Morning Siaya accident kills one

A girl has passed away and more than fourteen passengers sustaining injuries after a road accident involving a public Bus Service.

The 8 am accident occurred between Siaya-Kisumu when the bus traveling to Nairobi lost control rolling several times before hitting a ditch.

Confirming the accident was Siaya County Traffic Commandant Margret Kariuki who confirmed 44 people were on board during the Sunday morning accident. ”

Two people were rushed to the theater as they were in very critical condition,” said Ms Kariuki. The injured have been rushed to the county referral hospital while the body of the 13 year old girl taken to Siaya Mortuary.

The forty four passengers included 17 women,16 men and 11 children. Out of the 17 women, four of them were seriously injured.

Kenya Red Cross and County Health Department are currently at the scene.
