The government through the National Police Service (NPS) has launched an operation through a multi-agency team to arrest deadly Turkana bandits.
Through a statement, NPS noted that the operation will not only arrest the perpetrators of the Saturday attack that saw the death of 11 people but also recover the stolen livestock and firearm and return normalcy in the area.
“A multi-agency security operation has today been launched in the area to arrest the perpetrators, recover the stolen animals and firearms, and return normalcy to the area,” Read the statement.

National Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso noted that the acts were criminal in nature and impunity shall not be tolerated and must be brought to an end at all costs.
“Such acts of criminality and impunity shall not be tolerated and must be brought to an end at all costs. As such, bandits terrorizing innocent people have been put on notice,” said Shioso
Members of the public have been urged to assist the police in the operations by volunteering information that could lead to their arrest.
“NPS appeals to the public to cooperate with this noble effort to return security to the area by volunteering information that may lead to arrest of the criminals and recovery of stolen animals.” Said NPS
The statement follows a directive by President Ruto who direct the security agencies in the country to deal firmly and decisively with those involved in the attacks.
“After receiving a comprehensive report on the Turkana/Pokot incident that led to 10 security/administration officers losing their lives, I have instructed security agencies to deal firmly, decisively, and conclusively with those involved.
