Mwingi weather: four dead as vehicle is swept away by floods

Bad Mwingi weather has resulted in the death of four people after the car they were in was swept away by the flood.

The floods have since seen three occupants of the car died as two others survived the horrific Mwingi weather.

The two survivors included the driver of the double cabin and his co-driver.

Police arrived at the scene of the accident and managed to retrieve the bodies of three victims from River Mutindi.

The bodies were then transferred to Mwingi Level Four Hospital.

The vehicle is reported to have been swept away as the driver attempted to cross the bridge before it collapsed.

The vehicle has since been retrieved as Red Cross personnel made their way into the scene of the accident.
