Naftali Kinuthia, Ivy Wangechi murder suspect detained

An Eldoret court has on Monday has detained Naftali Kinuthia for 14 days as investigations continue in the cruel murder of Ivy Wangechi.

The prosecution team pleaded with the court to allow them more time to complete investigation into the 28-year-old man.

Naftali Kinuthia will now be detained at Nauberi Police Station in Eldoret as he receives treatment from Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for the injuries sustained following an attack by an angry mob.

Previous claims by the suspect revealed that he had been giving the late Ivy Wangechi money only to be ignored afterward.

In their last meeting, Ivy Wangechi is said to have excused herself to her premises only to switch off her phone angering Naftali Kinuthia.

Ivy Wangechi’s funeral arrangements are currently ongoing with the burial set to take place this Thursday in Nyeri County.

The case will be heard again on 30th April 2019.
