The High Court has on Thursday blocked the compulsory use of Naivasha Inland Container Depot until when the case against the order is hear and decided.
This follows a successful petition filled by human rights Okiya Omtata who said the reason behind the use of the ICD being because of the coronavirus pandemic does not add up at all.
Omtatah continued by saying that the orders are not backed by any law and that the Transport CS James Macharia has not power to declare such orders.

It was established that all goods from the Port of Mombasa will be transported to the depot before they are taken to neighboring land locked countries including Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda.
At the moment residents of Mombasa are against the move saying it has paralyzed the economy in Mombasa calling an immediate intervention.
The same view has been echoed by Nyali MP Mohammed Ali who is set to roll a motion in parliament to impeach the Transport CS.
Fellow Members of parliament have objected the motion terming the Nyali MP as an extortionist playing politics.
The MP’s include leaders from Mombasa who said the motion is personal and that it does not have any weight.
