Former Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak has been found guilty of corruption charges leveled against him.
Najib who has served as the country’s Prime Minister from 2009 to 2018 pleaded not guilty to money laundry and abuse of power charges.
Malaysia who is in the fight against corruption investigating the former Prime Minister checked all financial records relating to the country’s 1MDB fund.

He has however pleaded not guilty until when all appeals have been heard. The charges carry a minimum 20-year jail sentence.
According to prosecutors, a total of 10 million dollars were found to have been to have transferred to his account.
In his defense, he claimed he had been ill-advised by his financial advisor Jho Low who is facing similar charges.
he continued by claiming that he though the money was received from the Saudi Royal family and meant for development activities.
