Grief engulfed Gilgil, Nakuru County on Tuesday when the late doctor James Gekara and his two children were laid to rest.
The 54-year-old Nakuru based doctor is reported to have killed his two children aged 5 and 3 by injecting them with insulin before injecting himself the same substance in an attempt to end his life.
The doctor however succumbed to the side effects of the injection at a time when his wife was away in Nairobi. The wife was planning to get answers from the husband as to what came over him.

Media reports also confirmed that the two had engaged in domestic quarrel before the wife departed for Nairobi.
“Police in Nakuru have arrested a doctor who killed his 2 children by injecting them with insulin before attempting to commit suicide at Milimani estate by injecting himself with same substance. The doctor’s wife was away in Nairobi during the incident.” Said Thika Town Today
Family and friends of the deceased termed the late Gekara as a loving husband who loved his wife that he enrolled him to JKUAT university to advance her education. The wife also termed her husband as a sober man who deeply loved them.
