Nakuru West MP Arama denied bond and to spend another day in cell

Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama who was arrested on Saturday over alleged land fraud might spend a second day after he was denied bond.

This comes after the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission and the Deputy Public Prosecutor decided to charge the MP on Monday.

Several youths camped outside Nakuru Railways Police Station demanding release of Mr Arama.

“We want Arama’s immediate release. No peace without our MP’s release,’the youth said as they pulled down sign post of Railways provoking the police to disperse them.

Mr Samuel was arrested on Saturday at a joint in Nakuru Town.

On Sunday several leaders  visited the station negotiating his temporary release awaiting his trial on Monday.

DPP confirmation

DPP Noordin Haji on Saturday confirmed he approved of the charged leveled against the law maker.

The Mp will face charges of abuse of office, conspiracy to defraud, making a document without authority, uttering a document with intent to deceive, obtaining registration of land by false pretence and knowingly misleading an investigator.

Mr Haji accused the Mp of colluding with Nakuru Land registry to transfer the land to himself illegally.
