Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has been arrested on Monday afternoon following the destruction of Kibwari Estate.
Govern Stephen Sang was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations as his supporters watched.
Tear gas was lobbed to disperse the crowd before he was whisked away to Kisumu DCI offices for further interrogation.
Mr. Sang destroyed four-acres of tea plantation claiming it was public land grabbed by influential politicians in the country.

Before his arrest, Sang was quoted saying that public property will be repossessed from individuals for the benefit of the community.
