Nicodemus Odongo has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Hospital Insurance Fund.
The appointment comes after the arrest of Mr. Geoffrey Mwangi who was charged for the conspiracy to defeat law.
In a circulation, NHIF said that its board has unanimously resolved to send the current Chief Executive Officer Mr. Geoffrey Mwangi and The Acting Director, Finance and Investments Mr. Wilfred Kurgat on a compulsory leave pending hearing of their case.
Mr. Bernard Njega who is the manager in charge of Management Accounting will in the meantime replace Mr. Kurgat.
The duo pleaded denied the charges leveled against them and their hearing is set for Wednesday.
Mr. Geoffrey and Kurgat are also charged with the misappropriation of funds at NHIF.
