Nigerian pastor fakes his kidnap, demands Ksh 844k ransom

A Nigerian pastor has been arrested after faking his own kidnap so as to collect ransom from church members and family.

The Methodist church pastor Peter Adegoke was arrested by police officers who tracked his phone number to his hideout in Ado Ekiti in Nigeria.

The Nigerian pastor was in the company of his fellow cleric who they jointly locked themselves inside a hotel.

The pair went on to make on to demand ransom as they threatened they would be killed if Ksh 844,000 is not paid by Thursday 13th June 2019.

Members of his church were left confused as they contemplated on how to raise the said amount to save them.

Nigerian police, however, busted the two in the hotel after intercepting the mobile phone used to contact people.

It was during the interrogation that pastor Adegoke confessed to having faked his kidnapping and demanding for ransom.
