A Nigerian court has sentenced Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years in jail after he was found guilty of corruption.
Mr. Orji is accused of unlawfully obtaining approximately 19.6 million dollars of taxpayers money.
The case against the Senator has been under investigation since 2007 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

President Muhammadu Buhari has previously been quoeted promising to take action against the corrupt in the sountry.
It is to be sen if he will keep his word as the Senator is from his Progressive Party.
