Nyachae’s house help wanted over Ksh 5.1 million theft

Police are pursuing a house help of the former minister Simeone Nyachae for allegedly stealing Ksh 5.1 million in his house.

Lilian Maina is said to have stolen Ksh 2 million, £20,000 and $5,000 which totally add up to Ksh 5.1 million.

According to Mr. Nyachae’s wife, she had left the house for a trip to the UK to attend to her ailing husband only to find the cash missing from her safe.

Mrs. Grace Wamuyu the wife to Mr. Simeone Nyachae had left for an eight days trip leaving behind four of her house helps to man the house only to come back and find all the cash missing with the safe key in key hole.

She noticed one of her workers was missing that’s when she reported the theft.

Tracing of the worker The police in conjunction with Safaricom located the house help’s daughter Grace Waituru who is said to have been in contact with her mother after the raid.

The police requested for the daughter to be arrested for a week as the investigations continue by the court released her.

Through Milimani High Court Judge Kennedy Cheruyoit he ordered the unconditional release of Grace asking if she had an obligation leading the police and if she was an accomplice.

Investigations are still underway with the police in hot pursuit of the missing house help.
