Nyali police arrest 10 women and one man shooting porn

Police in Nyali have arrested 10 women and one man at a posh estate in Mombasa County while shooting pornographic films.

Over 16 laptops, 10 computers, vibrators and other assorted items were recovered during the raid.

The raid was a joint effort between police officers from Nyali Police Station and officials from Kenya Films and Classification Board.

The Thursday night followed ambush investigation and intelligence reports of sexual acts at the area as revealed by Mombasa Police Boss Johnstone Ipara.

The man arrested during the arrest was identified as Onyango and was the team leader of the 10 women who are aged between 20-40 years of age.

On Saturday, they were arraigned at Shanzu Law Courts where they will be charged with trafficking obscene publications.

Further investigations by the police revealed that Onyango runs an online website called “Chat Bate” in conjunction with an international media company called Multi Media LLC.

Appearing before Shanzu Law Court Senior Magistrate Florence Macharia, the prosecution team asked for five more days to conclude investigations.

In addition to that, the prosecution pleaded with the court not to release them on bond as they might interfere with investigation.

The ten suspects who have been identified as Diana Wairimu Muthoni, Anita Mburu Wanjiru, Christine Mueni Mutua and Enock Elisha Ochieng.

Others include Mariam Hamza Makbul, Dolly Kanana, Laureen Achieng Ariwo, Salma Makeri Njeri, Knight Aluoch Otieno and Faith Mbesa Mwatani.

The court has since given the prosection upto next week Tuesday to complete their investigation.

Currently the suspects are being held at Nyali Police Station before they are arraigned in court on Tuesday for the court to determine their fate.

Police in Mombasa further revealed to have been investigating the incident since 2013.
