Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has finally admitted that they that Kakamega Governor and party deputy leader Wycliffe Oparanya met Deputy President William Ruto.
In a statement issued by ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale, citizen TV shared the content that further confirmed that the Governor briefed the Party leader everything that they discussed.
Etale further played down claims of a possible alliance between the former Prime Minister and the Deputy President ahead of the 2022 elections.

“I want to categorically state that the ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, the governor of Kakamega County is a loyal member of the party and an ardent supporter of his boss, party leader Raila Amolo Odinga. Secondly, may I state here that, yes it is true Hon. Oparanya has held a few meetings with the Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, be it in Nairobi or elsewhere,” Said Etale
On Thursday, DP William Ruto also confirmed that they indeed held meetings with the Kakamega Governor not once but five times with Governor Oparanya present as himslef and not working on behalf of the party.
Ruto further played down any alliance rumors terming Hon. Raila Odinga as the right competitor ahead of the elections. He further confirmed that Oparanya was pleased with the hustler agenda for the country.
