Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has resolved to suspend Kilifi North MP Owen Baya over his links with Deputy President William Ruto.
The decision was arrived at during a retreat by ODM that has now forwarded his name to the Disciplinary Committee who will then make the final verdict.
“NEC also approved the SUSPENSION of Hon. Owen Baya from the NEC following his public utterances that have been unkind to the party and its leadership. The Disciplinary Committee will take up the matter and make a verdict.” Said ODM.

On 24th this month, the Kilifi North MP was in the company of other Coast based MPs who visited the Deputy President who was meeting Msambweni parliamentary aspirant Feisal Abdallah Bader.
“Met an aspirant for Msambweni parliamentary seat Feisal Abdallah Bader in company of Coast MPs Athman Shariff (Lamu East), MohaJichoPevu (Nyali), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga) and HonJumwa (Malindi) at Karen, Nairobi County.” Said DP William Ruto.
Hon. Baya joins the wagon of fellow Coast MP Aisha Jumwa who fell out with the party due to her links with the Deputy President.
Ruto has made it clear that he will support aspirants for the Msambweni seat that fell vacant following the death of Hon. Suleiman Dori.
