They then admit that by them playing the music on Monday was a show of love for their music and nothing more.

“We would like to assure our celebrated musical team Sauti Sol that we love them & appreciate their music so much. The group has carried our country‚Äôs flag so high in international fora & every Kenyan appreciates this. Playing their song yesterday was a show of love for their work.” Said ODM

The statement comes barely a day after the former Prime Minister announced his running mate for the August 9th election with the band confirming that their composition ‘Extravaganza’ was used on every social media platform without their license or authority.

“We did not license this song to the Azimio La Umoja campaign neither did we give any consents for its use in the announcement of their Vice-President candidate. Furthermore, our authority to use the composition, which is one of our most distinct compositions was neither sought or given.” Said Sauti Sol.

According to the group, they are neither aligned to or associated with Azimio La umoja or any other political movement, Presidential aspirants, Vice-President aspirants and all candidates at large.

They finally expressed their dissatisfaction and disappointment towards Azimio La Umoja as they seek legal remedies for what they termed a clear violation of their copyright.
