Ofafa Jericho High School closed over fire incident

Management of Ofafa Jericho High School has closed the institution for three days following a Monday night fire incident.

Students will be returning in phases with Form Four students expected back on Friday and those in Form One, Two and Three will return next week on Monday as confirmed by the media.

Investigations into the incident have already began with investigators looking into the cause of the inferno that has left several students with injuries.

Metropolitan Hospital in Buruburu administered 40 students after they suffered carbon monoxide poisoning with 15 of them discharged after receiving treatment.

The morning incident damaged destroyed beddings and other personal goods belonging to the students before it was contained by the fire department that responded swiftly.

Confirming the incident was the school principal who said the fire affected dormitories belonging to 15 students.
