Detectives based in Mombasa have managed to arrest one suspect in the Nyali car theft incident at his hideout in Kiembeni.
Boris Mutua Malai was arrested thanks to credible sources that saw a team lead by Mombasa CCIO arrest him in possession of a Toyota Racist registration number KCX 726Q.
“Following credible information from members of the public, a team of detectives lead by the CCIO Mombasa has arrested BORIS MUTUA MALAI from his home in Kiembeni and recovered a Toyota Ractis bearing Reg. No. KCX 726 Q.” Said DCI

On 17th September a car of registration number KCU 113P was captured outside Texas building in Nyali area. One man attempted to break into one vehicle as two others stood standby.
After several attempts they managed to break the back window, opened the door and made away with an envelope.
One man who stood far away is suspected to be working with them according to the footage. The man could be seen walking past the three man and signaling them.
Manhunt of the other suspects is currently ongoing as motorist are urged not to leave their items unattended in their vehicles.
“The motor vehicle was captured on camera on 17/9/2020 bearing plate number KCU 113 P at a crime scene at Texas Building near Cinemax within Nyali where a car was broken into and valuables stolen from therein. Search for Mutua’s accomplices is ongoing.” Said DCI
