Pastor goes underground after assaulting wife

A pastor in Kajiado County has gone underground after allegedly assaulting his wife when she borrowed money to buy food.

Police are currently looking for Pastor Daniel Lotuno of Ilmasi AIC to answer to assault charges. Lucy Lotuno the wife of Pastor Daniel was on Thursday admitted at a local medical facilty to receive treatment.

She however escaped the medical facility on Friday after the Pastors relatives came pleading with her to withdraw her statement at Kiserian Police Station.

It not the first time Lucy has been beaten by her husband with previous assaults the husband is said to have been calling local elders to unite them.

Lucy claims she was beaten after asking for Ksh 2,000 to buy food reserves. Ngong OCPD Joseph confirmed the incident calling on anyone with the whereabouts of the Pastor to share. Efforts to track him through his phone have hit a dead end as the phone is off.

The neighbours have also been called upon to volunteer information that can help prosecute the Pastor. Pastor Daniel has been described by neighbours as a ruthless man.

Currently Lucy has taken shelter at the home of Bishop Peter Mankura of Dominion Chapel Ministres in Kajiado.

Confirming Lucy’s stay, Pastor Peter said he is aware Lucy is at his home even though he is away. He further said that he the two couple have been united by elders.

Cases of domestic violence have been condemned with the latest one being that of Makueni County where a man beat his wife until she passed out.

Mr. David Nzomo was recorded assaulting his wife Winfred Mwende leading to a huge public outcry of his arrest.

Previous disputes between Nzomo and the wife have been settled the area chief.

On 8th August 2018 Makueni Court sentenced Nzomo to 12 years in jail.
