Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has broken his silence over Benjamin Mendy’s breach of COVID-19 regulations.
Guardiola noted that the defender will definitely pay for his mistakes after Mendy hosted a number of people at his house over the new year.
The club has however noted that the Frenchman was misinterpreted over an issue that is still under investigation by relevant authorities.

They continued by saying that their player had already tested positive for COVID-19 in the past and that he had undergone daily tests just like everyone else.
Manchester City players have been subjected to daily tests following a surge in the disease among football players in the Premier League.
Currently the club is already missing the services of six players who have tested positive for the virus. The six are namely Eric Garcia, Ederson, Kyle Walker, Ferran Torres, Tommy Doyle and Gabriel Jesus.
Mendy was benched ahead of their Sunday clash with Chelsea as the club confirmed that he had already apologized over the incident.
