Former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has retired from the Gabon national team with immediate effect.
Speaking after the news, Aubameyang noted that it has been a pride representing Gabon for 13 years as he thanked Gabonese people and his supporters at large.

“I would like to thank the Gabonese people and all those who have supported me in the good like the bad times.” Said the Barcelona forward.
The Barcelona striker also thanked President Ali Bongo for ensuring the national team gets adequate support. He also thanked the staff, coach and fellow players during his career.
“And sharing it with all the people was an unforgettable moment. I thank our President, his Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba who has always supported the Panthers and has always worked for football to evolve in our country.
“I would also like to thank all my coaches, staff and the players that I have come across during this career.” Said Aubameyang.
