A police horse by the name Morecambe died following a tragic accident during the League One clash between Blackpool and Fleetwood on Monday.
Morecambe was on patrol during the fateful day as he suffered a serious stomach when he fell on a pole outside Blackpool’s stadium.
A vet rushed to administer urgent medical attention but was pronounced dead shortly. The rider of the horse is said to have fallen down and was rushed Royal Preston Hospital by an air ambulance.
Morecambe was ushering fans away from the stadium when the accident happened and no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death have been reported.
Lancashire Police department twitted the tragic loss of the horse who passed away due to an accident.
