The two suspects are reported to have dragged Kipyegon and his friend identified as Emmanuel Kiprotich to his compound before beating them with a hammer leaving them for dead.
Luckily, Kiprotich survived the ordeal and was rushed to Kericho County Referral hospital where he is currently receiving treatment on his limbs.
Family of the deceased is now pleading with the government to serve them with justice taking note that the bodyguard and his friend could have followed the legal channel instead of taking away his life.
