Several people are reported to have been arrested after police raided FC Barcelona offices on Monday as revealed by media sources.
The search and seize operation was also confirmed by the club and was in relation to a smear campaign castigated by officials at the club targeting former players and then President Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Josep Maria Bartomeu left the Catalans last year following a wave of protest that saw the near exit of Barcelona star Lionel Messi who was also opposed to his rule. Messi also tabled a contract termination request which was turned down by the club.

Bartomeu is alleged to have run the club into financial debt following the pandemic in addition to political interference.
Currently, Messi has not been approached by any clubs as Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are reported to be aiming for his signatures and hoping for a Pep Guardiola or Neymar reunion.
Messi has been vocal on the management and ‘hostile’ exit of former players including Luiz Suarez who now plays for Atletico Madrid.
