The officers responded swiftly and conducted a search in the house of one Robert Barasa Kiptein, a 51 year old male leading to the recovery of a home-made gun capable of firing but with no ammunition. An empty ammunition carrier typically used by armed services was also recovered at the scene.” Said National Police Service(NPS)

According to NPS, the recovery is part of the ongoing police operations in various parts of the country as they thanked citizens for sharing vital information with them through community policing.

“This comes at a time when security agencies are making headway in recovering illegal arms with security operations being conducted in various parts of the country. We appreciate that citizens are now more cognizant of the shared responsibility of the police and the community in ensuring a safe environment and the willingness to provide information and work together with the police.” Said NPS
