Shareholders of the English Premier League have agreed that the 2020/21 season will begin on 12th September.

Also agreed is the end date of the season which will be on 23rd May as they consult on the dates of domestic competitions including the FA.

The news comes at time when Liverpool were officially crowned the 2019/20 champions after thrashing Chelsea 5-3 at home.

Following the coronavirus pandemic, major football activities were forced to disrupt their play before negotiations began on when they should resume.

A strict and tight table was set so as to complete the remaining matches on time with the last matches expected to be played on 26th July.

This means that all clubs will have a 7-week break before they resume the new campaign pending issuance of how the fixtures will be.

The U.K is yet to issue a formal agreement on when fans will be allowed into the stadiums after hinting out by October they will allow them to attend the matches.
