US President Joe Biden has on Monday congratulated Benjamin Netanyau over election victory in Israel to become the next Prime Minister.
Netanyau overcame stiff competition from the incumbent Yair Lapid who has been at the helm of the position since July. Lapid conceded defeat to Netanyau.
In his phone call with the new Israel Prime Minister, President Joe Biden congratulated the country for holding a free and fair election.

Biden continued by holding talks on the two country’s bilateral partnership that has dated back from 2021 leading to his official visit to Israel during his four day visit of the Middle East.
Netanyau on his part confirmed talks with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky as he promised to look into the ongoing conflict with Russia. Zelensky invited Netanyau to visit the country.
