President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the issuance of E-passports to March next year as announced by the government spokesman.
In that regard, Kenyans will continue to use the old passports scrapping off the August 31st deadline.
Speaking to media houses, Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna argued Kenyans to take advantage of the extension period and apply for the new passports rather than waiting until the deadline day.

In the meantime Col (Rtd) Cyrus Interior Cs Dr. Fred Matiang’I and Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma have been called upon by the President to make sure a smooth issuance of visas to Kenyans using the current passport.
Kenyans were forced to wait patiently in long queues at Nairobi Nyayo House in order to get the new passports making the process tedious.
