President Uhuru Kenyatta renames Moi Day

President Uhuru Kenyatta has renamed Moi Day and it will now be officially referred to as Huduma Day.

The renaming by the President is in line with former President Daniel Arap Moi who requested the day to be marked for volunteerism and service.

Also renamed by President Uhuru Kenyatta was Boxing day which is marked on 26th December of every year to Utamaduni day.

26th December will now celebrate the cultural diversity the country but all changes will come into effect when parliament resume.

All changes were confirmed by a cabinet meeting chaired by the President on Thursday an Thursday.

Also discussed by the cabinet was the immediate payment of all audited and verified pending bills of the counties.

All pending bills incurred by previous leadership will be subjected to verification by a team from different agencies.

An establishment of the Kenya Planters Co-operative Union was brought up during the Cabinet meeting which was approved by the President.
