President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Wednesday visited Lamu where he supervised the ongoing training by various multi-agency teams in Boni Forest.
The training is part of a government project meant to take advantage of the different units and security agencies to work together.

The Field Training Exercise (FTX), is part of a broad Whole-of-Government approach to the delivery of security services by leveraging on interoperability of Kenya’s security assets.” Said State House
Accompanying the Head of State was Defense CS Dr. Monica Juma and the three were taken on a guided tour by Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Robert Kibochi.
“At the camp, the President, who was accompanied by Defence CS Dr Monica Juma, witnessed drills by officers who’ve been training for three weeks and taken on a guided tour by Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Robert Kibochi” Said State House
Speaking at the camp, President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed how happy he was by the training and that it will enhance the effectiveness of the security forces in the country.
“I am happy that this multi-agency training has taken place. This is a very important message. As the Forces get to know each other and to collaborate in the training,” Said President Uhuru.
He continued by noting that as a country the borders will be guarded and that due to the country’s love of peace, they have taken part in various peace making initiatives.
“We will not accept any one claiming ownership of any part of our land. Just as we have respected boundaries of other countries, we expect that our borders and land are equally respected,
As a country we love peace, we are a country that loves to live in peace with its neighbours. Hence why we have been part of various peace support initiatives in other countries.” Said President Uhuru.
The officers were promised that their welfare will be carted for and that the government is pleased by their undertaking in renovating schools, drilling boreholes and offering medical interventions.
“I would also like to thank you all for participating in this training and also for the social responsibility that you have participated in. Restoring hospitals, drilling bore holes, renovating schools and offering medical interventions. These gestures go a long way in changing the mindset and perception of the security agencies among wananchi,
I would like to urge the authorities involved to increase and keep modifiying competencies to ensure we are mission ready,
