Benson Melonyie Mungai the prime suspect behind the murder of four in Kitengele will remain in custody pending mental assessment.
The orders were issued by Machakos High Court judge Justice David Kimei who allowed the suspect not to take a plea but undergo assessment pending to be arraigned in court on Thursday next week.
On September 16th, the suspect will appear before Kajiado High Court after serving time at Kitengela police station.

Benson Melonyie Mungai was arrested following the murder of Fred Mureithi, 30, Victor Mwangi 25, Mike George, 29, and Nicholas Musa, 28 during the 25th birthday celebration of Victor Mwangi.
“The prime suspect behind last week’s grisly blood-curdling murder of four men in Kitengela has been arrested by detectives. Benson Melonyie ole Mungai, 40, was arrested from his hideout in Kitengela town last evening, where he has been hiding since he masterminded the killings.” Said DCI
The four were attacked by angry villagers after an alleged plot by the suspect before they were lynched on suspicion that they were cattle thieves.
