Justina Wamae, the running mate of Prof. George Wajackoyah has officially quit Roots Party through a notice dated September 2022.
“A party is not entitled to funding if they do not have elected members. The hostility besides the project was that MIZIZI will benefit from the fund. I have voluntarily resigned they can now eat HOT AIR. Watch this space,” Said Justina
Through a statement, Wamae noted that her mandate as Prof. Wajackoyah’s running mate ended the moment the Supreme Court upheld the election of President William Ruto.

It is in the regard that she now requests the Registrar of Political Parties to strike her name from the registrar and so should Roots Party strike her name as their member.
“My role as Roots Party of Kenya Presidential Running mate lapsed with the declaration of H.E President William Ruto and H.E Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on the 16th of August 2022 and subsequent upholding of the election by the Supreme court of Kenya on the 5th of September 2022,”
“In this regard, I tender my resignation as a member of the Roots Party of Kenya. Kindly accord the ORPP the requirements for my name’s prompt removal from your party register,” Read the statement
Wamae hit headline recently after the elections after she was summoned by the party over disciplinary issues. She was accused of misinforming the media and general public on the party’s manifesto.
“I will not respond to pettiness. But on the non-existent accommodation and car, you imagined you ‘assisted’ me with you can withdraw in your DREAMS. It is your party to do what you deem fit, I will soldier on.” Said Justina Wamae
