Led by area MCA Raphael Chege and the PA to Thika Town MP, the group of protesters wore red ribbons to signify danger and a no-go zone to any intruder.

The contentious 10-acre piece of land is said to have been allocated to construct a market, social hall and a police station.

The land grabbers are said to have gone ahead to acquire fake title deeds.
