It was business unusual at Pumwani Maternity hospital when health workers downed their tools in protest of unpaid salaries.

The 70 health workers claim to have not received their salaries for the last four months dating back from November 2019.

In addition to that, they claimed to be receiving threats and blackmail if they fail to resume duty.

Speaking to Citizen TV an administrator at the facility confirmed they had indeed not received their payments.

Geoffery Mosiria went ahead to say that their names had been forwarded and they will soon receive their payments.

Mosiria informed the members of the public that operations at Pumwani Maternity hospital are ongoing as usual.
