Premier League side Everton has officially sacked coach Rafa Benitez following an emergency meeting by the club’s board.
“Everton have officially sacked Rafa Benitez, confirmed as expected after yesterday emergency meeting. Board now considering two candidates shortlist to find a replacement.” Said Fabrizio Romano
Through the club’s official website, Everton also confirmed his immediate departure with his replacement set to be announced in due course.

“Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager.Â
Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.
An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course. ” Said Everton
The news comes at a time when the club recorded a string of poor performance including a 2-1 defeat by relegated side Norwich on Saturday.
The loss left Everton in 16th position with 16 points from 19 matches played with the risk of dropping further to relegation zone.
