Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has dismissed a story published by the Star on how to handle those who succumb to the virus.
Taking on social media, the ODM leader said that he had not called on the cremation of Luo or Kenyans who have succumbed to the virus.
Instead, he pointed out that as per his interviews at Kameme TV and Radio Milele, he called on for speedy burials so as to contain the spread of the virus.

“I wish to clarify that in my interview with Kameme TV and Radio Milele, I did not ask the Luo or any other Kenyan or any other African community the dead as reported by the Star newspaper.
Instead, I called on Kenyans to embrace speedy burials and avoid elaborate and crowded burial ceremonies at this time of COVID-19 to help contain the spread of coronavirus.”
He continued by saying that cremation has never been part of African culture and neither should it be imposed.
