Raila Odinga is seeking a handshake with Ruto, says DP Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hit back at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s planned demonstrations in the country.

The ODM party leader has already planned a number of rallies in the country beginning December 7th at the Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi ahead of a second one at the same venue on December 12th.

“On December 7th, at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi, we’ll launch public consultations with the people of Kenya to brainstorm on the direction the country is taking. We will return to the same venue on December 12th, to continue with these consultations on the state of our Nation.” Said Raila

Taking on social media, the former Prime Minister accused President Ruto of building a dictatorship system that he will work towards bringing it down.

“We wish to remind Mr. Ruto that this country had a system like the one he is trying to reinvent. We fought that system. We brought down that system. We will do so to the one he is inventing now. We will bring it down. Let us all stand up for our country before it is too late.” Said Raila

Addressing the news was DP Rigathi Gachagua who said the demonstrations are plans by the former Prime Minister to have a handshake with the Head of State similar to that he had with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Last time, he staged similar protests until he got himself into President Kenyatta and William Ruto’s government. Uhuru bought into his threats and let him into his handshake government and he wrecked it,” Said Gachagua

The Deputy President continued by telling the ODM party leader that he should forget about the handshake.

“He can stick to opposition. Let the old man hear it from me, here at the slopes of Mout Kenya, there will be no handshake. The only handshake President Ruto is interested in is with hustlers for the Hustler Fund,” Said Gachagua

Gachagua has in the past accused the former Prime Minister of the failures encountered by former President Uhuru Kenyatta including the increased cost of living.
