Rashid Salim appointed as KPA acting MD

Rashid Salim a long serving General Manager at matters Engineering has been appointed as Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) acting Managing Director.

The decision to appoint Mr. Rashid Salim was after a board meeting was convened chaired by Transport PS Solomon Kitungu and KPA chairman Joseph Kibwana.

Having joined the parastatal in 1982, Salim rose through the ranks to head the Engineering department.

On Friday morning, KPA boses held a closed door meeting that lasted the whole day until past 6 pm.

It was after the meeting that they announced Salim as the acting MD but promised to advertise the position later on.

Earlier on Friday, Daniel Manduku tendered his resignation which he said was arrived at after a long thought and consultation.

In the meantime, he has proceeded to a terminal leave until his formal rerun in June 1st 2020.

Manduku found himself in trouble when published Nairobi Inland Cargo Terminal as part of KPA.

He was then arrested following investigations into a Ksh 2.5 billion scandal before he was released.
