La Liga giants Real Madrid extended their lead by 8 points after beating rivals Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
The host took the lead through French striker Karim Benzema whose magnificent volley from a Vinicius Jr. cross went below Oblak’s hand in the 16th minute.
Marco Asensio doubled the lead in the 57th minute thanks to another assist from on form Vinicius Jr. who was crowned player of the month November before the Sunday night clash.

The win was the 10th one in a row for Carlo Ancelotti’s side who have lost twice only twice in their last 23 fixtures and none since October when the former Everton coach took over.
Atletico Madrid sit fourth in the table with 29 points from 16 matches played and 3 adrift of Real Madrid who are eight points ahead of second placed Sevilla.
