On Saturday, Russia confirmed a cease-fire operation to allow the humanitarian corridors to conduct civilian evacuation.

This follows the capture of Ukraine port city of Mariupol and the small city of Volnovakha where heavy gun battles have been recorded.

“In Mariupol and Volnovakha, humanitarian evacuation corridors are being prepared for opening, columns are being formed from those who are subject to evacuation. The parties temporarily ceased fire in the area of the corridors” Said Russia Defense Minister

As at Friday, Russia had taken control of Ukraine nuclear power plant with explosions being recorded at the site causing fear among residents of the area. If explosion persists, then the worst could occur as confirmed by experts.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has shifted the blame on NATO for failing to close the country’s airspace as he alleged that it was being used by Russians to escalate the war.

His sentiments were downplayed by Russia Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov who said that a move by NATO was not going to help especially ahead of the third round of talks between the two countries.
