Ruth Atieno Ouma was arrested by a multi-agency team in Roysambu, Nairobi following the seizure of bhang worth millions.
The arrest follows a warrant of arrest order issued by the Chief Magistrate JKIA Law Courts after she went missing after the arrest of her husband Tom Ouma Aero back in August 2020.
“DCI Detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit have arrested one; RUTH ATIENO OUMA within Roysambu in Nairobi following a warrant of arrest issued by the Chief Magistrate JKIA law courts.

The arrest is connected with the seizure of Cannabis Sativa worth millions of shillings in a Motor Vehicle Reg. No. KCQ 741V that was intercepted along Nakuru-Nairobi Highway on 14th August 2020.
The suspect was on the run after the arrest of her husband; TOM OUMA AERO and will appear in court tomorrow.” Said DCI.
Her husband Tom Ouma has been termed as a notorious drug dealer who was arrested in possession of cannabis sativa worth Ksh 11 million.
His vehicle was intercepted along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway and is accused of sponsoring gangs in Korogocho, Huruma and Dandora.
“His arrest was in connection with the seizure of 368.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa valued at over Ksh 11 million from motor vehicle Registration Number KCQ 741V that was intercepted along Nakuru – Nairobi Highway on 14th August, 2020.
The suspect is also believed to sponsor gangs in Korogocho, Huruma and Dandora to protect his business of drug trafficking.” Said DCI
