Singer Ruth Matete has been interrogated by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal investigations (DCI).
The interrogations began with a summon at the DCI Headquarter to shed light on the last moments leading to her husband’s death.
A visit at their Athi River’s house followed next to collect any kind of evidence that could be useful to crack the puzzle into the death of Pastor John Apewajoye.
Accompanying the singer was iMatete’s father Mr. Abel Amunga and her lawyer Mr. Robert Adanga.
Speaking to journalist, the lawyer confirmed that the detectives wanted to know the cause of death of Nigerian pastor John Apewajoye.
The investigations have caused the postponement of Mr. John Apewajoye’s postmortem to this week Thursday.
In her statement, Ruth described how her husband was burnt by a gas cylinder at home before he was taken to Shalom Hospital for first aid on March 30.
He was then taken to Bellevue Hospital where the singer said she was recovering at the facilities HDU ward.
It was from there that he was transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital where he passed away on April 11th.
According to Kenyatta National Hospital, the patient was mishandled at Bellevue Hospital as they kept him when they lacked facilities to treat burn wound patients.
Bellevue have since said they will send their own pathologists during the postmortem in addition to other independent pathologists attached to the investigations.
