President William Ruto has finally responded about an alleged plot by UDA lawmakers to extend the Presidential term limit and cap the age limit to 75 years.
Speaking during a Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting at State House, the Head of State called dismissed the allegations as he called on the legislators to carry out their duties with seriousness.
“You were elected to serve the people; their issues must come first. As President, I won’t participate in efforts aimed at mutilating the Constitution for parochial, selfish and personal interests,” Said Ruto

The President was responding to a statement issued by Fafi MP Salah Yakub who revealed plans to scrap the existing ten year presidential term limit and cap the age to 75-years.
UDA responded to the allegations terming it a fertile imagination that they are not part of discussion.
“Remarks by Fafi MP Salah Yakub that there are plans to extend term limits for the President are a product of a fertile imagination by the legislator. UDA distances itself from the utterances by the MP.
The Party has not been part of discussions in regard to term limits. The Party is busy implementing the Plan and will not be part of sideshows.” Said UDA
