President William Ruto on Wednesday welcomed development partners to tackle the famine situation in the country.
“The government welcomes the contribution by development partners to tackling the famine situation in the country.” Said, President Ruto
Among the issues discussed were the distribution of resources, the adoption coordination, and real-time and targeted interventions that would assist the vulnerable people affected by the drought.

“Aware of the fact that this is the worst drought in four decades, we must step up, create synergy, marshal more resources and adopt a more coordinated, real-time, and targeted intervention that will guarantee assistance to the vulnerable people in drought-affected areas.” Said Ruto
The news comes days after the Head of State flagged off fifty vehicles ferrying relief food to drought-stricken areas of the country. In his speech, President Ruto expressed his prayers that it was the last relief food they were flagged off.
Under his administration, the President already reduced the price of fertilizer so as to make it affordable for farmers and increase food production in the country.
