A Rwanda Air passenger plane has on Wednesday morning skidded off the runway while landing at Entebbe airport in Uganda.
The plane that was carrying 60 passengers at the time of the incident from Nairobi saw all passengers on board land safely before an emergency team rushed to the scene to access the damage.
Among those affected by the incident were guest of President Yoweri Museveni’s son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who was celebrating his 48th birthday.

Others who will be in attendance include former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutetsi as confirmed by Lt Gen Muhoozi on Twitter. “Jolly Mutetsi, former Miss Rwanda, my old friend will be there at the birthday party! We will have a great time.” Said Muhoozi
Even though investigations are underway Rwanda Air confirmed that the incident was caused by adverse weather. They continued to confirm that all crew and passengers were evacuated safely.
The national carrier also confirmed ongoing collaboration with Uganda Civil Aviation Authority to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
“Rwanda Air flight WB464 upon landing at Entebbe International Airport early this morning was involved in a runway excursion as a result of bad weather. All passengers and flight crew deplaned safely with no reported injuries.” Said Rwanda Air
