“Threats of arrest and persecution by the state will not intimidate us or change the will of the people of Nairobi. Our resolve remains firm.

“Bwana DCI Kinoti, I’m at my Riverside office, karibu or let me know if you’d like me to come over. Your office will not install a project on the people of Nairobi. My qualifications are legit and the relevant institutions have refused to play along with your games. Let the people decide.” Said Sakaja

The statement follows news from the DCI boss confirming that the Nairobi Senator is a suspect in an international criminal syndicate under investigation following allegations that he faked his degree certificate from Uganda.

Kinoti insisted that his office will not allow fraudsters to run Nairobi City and that an investigation into the matter will involve international agencies.

Even though Sakaja was cleared to vie by the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC), a petition is before the dispute committee to verify his academic qualification under investigation.

Commission of University Education (CUE) had already revoked clearing Senator Sakaja, a move that sparked anger from the Kenya Kwanza camp.

Deputy President William Ruto called on the government to leave the Nairobi Senator alone throwing the blame on ‘deep state’ and the ‘system.’
