The Ministry of Health has confirmed there is no single case of COVID-19 in Samburu County as earlier reported.
Confirming the information was Health DG Dr. Patrick Amoth who said the case that was reported was a police officer from Marsabit County.
According to Citizen TV, the patient was contacted and confirmed to have been tested in Isiolo County and that he works at a border control unit in Moyale.

The Ministry of Health has responded to the information and they will conduct mass testing of staff working at the border control unit.
The news comes at a time when Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal dismissed reports of coronavirus case in his county.
He confirmed that the case was from Marsabit as he called on the Ministry of Health to stop spreading fear among residents of his county.
According to the Governor, the Ministry of Health should better handle the samples issued to them and that his county is well prepared for the worst of the virus.
Samburu County is reported to have installed five full equipped ICU beds with ventilators and two hundred and fifty isolation beds to handle cases that may arise.
