Saudi Arabia women will from now be sent divorce notification to their mobile phones in new reforms.
The recent reforms are put in place to end previous norms where husbands left their wives without notification.
The ministry of Justice said on Monday that the country would like protect the rights of women in addition to embracing digital transformation through the use of mobile phones.
The text message is said to contain the reference number of divorce filled and the court name where the woman can go and pick up the papers.
Saudi Arabia women can also check their marital status online through a specific website as issued by the government.
Through the countries vision 2030 agenda, the government of Saudi Arabia through Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman has come up with economic transformations such as women’s rights to drive.
Last year the crown Prince was accused of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, allegations that he denied being part of.
