Senator Mithika Linturi has been transferred to Nairobi’s Gigiri police station following his Sunday arrest in Eldoret.
The arrest follows a directive by the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) to the Inspector of Police Hillary Mutyambai. The DPP also ordered for comprehensive investigation into the matter.
“The DPP has directed that comprehensive investigations be undertaken expeditiously on utterances made by Hon. Mithika Linturi. We wish to inform members of public that persons found culpable of hate speech and incitement will be prosecuted.” Said DPP.

Senator Linturi is accused of a number of things including spreading hatred, incitement and violence following his madoa doa remarks during DP Ruto’s mega rally in Eldoret.
He however apologized over the incident as those allied to the Deputy President terming it misinterpretation from those allied to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“Removing madoadoa simply means voting six piece for all UDA candidates. Those nimble footed ODM Twitter minions should stop profiling Senator Mithika Linturi for their failure of comprehension or intentional misrepresentation of what the Senator said in Eldoret today.” Said LSK President Nelson Havi
